Early Years Foundation Stage
At Ashleigh Nursery School, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to five years old.
The EYFS is designed to support children in achieving the five ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes:
- Staying safe
- Being healthy
- Enjoying and achieving
- Making a positive contribution
- Achieving economic well-being
Through a focus on equality of opportunity, partnership with parents, and a commitment to quality and consistency, we aim to lay a secure foundation for your child’s future learning. Regular assessments ensure that every child’s progress is carefully monitored, and we keep parents informed through written reports and informal discussions, allowing you to stay closely involved in your child’s journey.
Our experienced staff are experts in Early Years education. Donna Walker, our Deputy Manager and leader in the Star Room, holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Children, Schools and Families and oversees the implementation of the EYFS across the nursery. Donna works closely with all staff across Ashleigh Nursery School to ensure that every child receives the personalised support they need to thrive.
