Where your children are at the centre of everything we do
We believe every child’s journey is unique and precious. At Ashleigh Nursery School, we create a nurturing environment where curiosity thrives, independence grows, and every moment is an opportunity for discovery and wonder.
Classrooms
The Poppy Room is a warm, homely space designed to nurture children from 6 months old to 2 years, filled with stimulating toys and natural resources that inspire curiosity and learning.
The Sunshine Room is a vibrant space for 2 to 3 year olds, filled with activities that spark creativity, build skills, and nurture communication through play and storytelling.
The Star Room for 3 to 4 year olds encourages independence and growth through predominantly child-led activities, preparing little learners for their next stage with confidence.
Our outdoor spaces
Outdoor time is a cherished part of each day at our nursery, with spacious gardens and outdoor classrooms where we encourage children to explore nature year-round.
At Ashleigh Nursery School, we are dedicated to nurturing your child’s potential, ensuring they enjoy their early years while building a strong foundation for the future.
Supporting every child’s development
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
At Ashleigh Nursery School, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, which sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth to five years old.
The EYFS is designed to support children in achieving the five ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes:
- Staying safe
- Being healthy
- Enjoying and achieving
- Making a positive contribution
- Achieving economic well-being
-
Through a focus on equality of opportunity, partnership with parents, and a commitment to quality and consistency, we aim to lay a secure foundation for your child’s future learning. Regular assessments ensure that every child’s progress is carefully monitored, and we keep parents informed through written reports and informal discussions, allowing you to stay closely involved in your child’s journey.
Our experienced staff are experts in Early Years education. Donna Walker, our Deputy Manager and leader in the Star Room, holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Children, Schools and Families and oversees the implementation of the EYFS across the nursery. Donna works closely with all staff across Ashleigh Nursery School to ensure that every child receives the personalised support they need to thrive.
